3x120mm or 2x140 mm case fans?

Hi, I recently build a my pc and wanted to mount more fans on my case, but I'm unsure to buy 120mm or 140mm and which fans. These is my build:

I was thinking about the 140mm : noctua nf-a14 industrialppc-2000 pwm

and for the 120 mm : Noctua NF-F12 industrialPPC-2000 PWM, 120mm

The same. I bet you won't notice much difference in term of cooling performance.

Due to the price of those fans, I'd go with the 2 larger fans.  The 3 120's will cost you about 25 bucks more than the 2 140's.  If price is no object then I'd just go with what you like the look of more.  Those are great fans and either choice will perform well in your chassis.

i doubt it'd make any impactful change, but i suppose 3x120 would in theory be abe to push more static pressure, but would also be a bit louder.

3x120 will move more air.

 

If noise is at all a concern, I suggest 3x  A12x25, they are worth the money.  Up against a filter the A12x25 run quieter and move more air than the standard A14.  Since your looking at the industrial version noise might not matter to you?

I’d do 2 140’s. Less noise, money and the same airflow.

Noise isnt a concern, but i really want good fans for my case and don't really know which fan to buy i thought about noctua.

There a million that can fit that category. 

 

Comes down to what you want. Looks, lights, noise, performance and price. 

 

I prefer the chromax noctua as I don’t need my fans to have lights. Great for airflow and pressure.

i want use it as top fans there is a filter and restricted airflow so will this be good for that?

Yes it is a very good fan against a filter.  There are fans that will move more air against restriction, but I dont think there is anything that can move as much air nearly as quiet.

Does anyone know which  3x 4Pin PWM cable splitter is best?

If it’s just a regular splitter, doubt there much of a difference aside from looks. 

 

I tend to run powered splitters though. Don’t know if any brands as they are all generic.

I just bought a 3 way pwm fan splitter, and i see that 2 of the 3 only have 3 pins while one has 4. Is this normal?

Yep. It can’t tell you the rpm of every fan attached. It’s just one wire so it can’t do that.

Why not just stick with the stock case fans?
