if there are poweroutage issues. and "unclean" power at your place. an UPS would be a better investment for now. and then save up for PSU upgrade at some point.

I'm planning to buy a Seasonic S12 620w and a high quality UPS but I'm on a tight budget. Which of the two should I buy first? I'm coming from a Corsair VS450 and I want to upgrade.

Why would you upgrade. That is enough wattage even for 2080 ti

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

yeah, only problem is that voltage goes through the roof and if it goes down, there's no 12v uvp to stop it

wattage is fine, quality is not

honestly, s12ii should be eol, it's over a decade old now

and if that's vs 2017, i'd even take over it, though there are better options

I saw some forums that the VS450 ain't that great of a PSU and I'm worried it'll fry my system in the long run

if that is the VS450 greylabel. then the S12ii really wont be a better unit.

how much you spending?

at what budget and country?

and what system are you powering?

Im here in the Philippines where power surges and blackouts are quite common. I'd say around a 100 bucks.

CPU: Ryzen 3 2200g

Mobo: Asus A320m-k (planned upgrade to a B450)

Ram: HyperX 2x4 2666mhz (planned upgrade)

PSU: Corsair VS450 Grey Label

GPU: (planning to buy a rx 570)

rx 570 is fine to run with the vs450.

still isnt great due to the topology. but its workable. S12ii usually go for about the same as the cx greylabel or PP11 600w units, depending on region offcourse. those would set you for a long time

Thanks a lot. I'm new to this PC building thing and had an old system passed down to me so I'm still learning the ropes. In any case that I would be upgrading what PSU would you recommend within the 100 dollars budget ?

Tier B+ or tier A is what you should be able to get.

Units to look at include the TX550m, straightpower 11 550. Bitfenix formula gold. Bitfenix whisper M

Among other units. Really depends on the local market.

Would aim for 550w as that covers you for anything consumer these days.
