Hello everyone,

I haven't used LTT forums before or even visited here, but since I decided to try and build a computer for the first time, I thought this would be an excellent time to start. All of my previous machines were built by friends. Still, with the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, I decided I needed a new computer, and I wanted to try building it by myself. Most of the parts in this list I managed to get cheaper on Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. I would appreciate help and tips with this build and with any problems more experienced people might be able to spot.

PS. Also, pcpartspicker.com is flagging Asus ROG Strix X570-I Gaming Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard and AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor as not compatible, but I'm pretty sure that warning wasn't there this Friday when I first started to build this parts list. Please let me know if those parts really are incompatible, so I can switch my order on one of them and pick something that works.

There are numerous how to build it videos on LTT that could help you figure out what to put where and how to do it.  Mounting the CPU in the board in particular can be messed up.  Static is a potential problem.  There are a couple ways to mitigate it.Case screws are different from parts mounting screws but look quite similar so you’ll want to watch out for that.

Do you have a monitor/keyboard/mouse already?  A windows install to use?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Thanks for the tips you mentioned.

I do have a monitor, keyboard, mouse and windows install ready for use. Videos from LTT and other content creators on youtube have been beneficial for me, the past couple of months that I have spent looking at different guides, reviews etc. While I have been preparing for Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, so I would have at least some idea on what parts should work with each other.

That incompatibility warning with the motherboard and the CPU I picked made me a little bit less confident, about the rest of the parts working together. So decided to make this forum post to see if more experienced builders might notice something that I missed.

It's being flagged because Asus doesn't list the mobo/cpu combination as compatible.

@jzuuso1

Thanks for letting me know, maybe I should change the order to Ryzen 5 3600 then.

Interesting that they suddenly don’t want people putting 6 core CPUs in x570 mobos
