Motherboards with out of box support for 3rd Gen Ryzen

Anyone know of motherboards around $100 USD that have out of box support for 3rd Gen Ryzen. Besides MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX

Most AM4 boards should be compatible at this point. Motherboards that are compatible should have a "Ryzen 3000 ready" sticker on the board. In my experience, most will be at this point.

 

Otherwise, all the other MSI MAX boards, X570 (probably out of your price range) and Asus B450-F come to mind as compatible.

The ASUS ROG Strix B450-F is overpriced and among the worst B450 motherboards there is, it gets destroyed by the significantly cheaper Tomahawk so it's better to not mention it.

 

 

Even undervolting it the VRM performance didn't keep up with the Tomahawk... stock for stock with the R9 3950X we can see the VRM on the ROG Strix peaked at 112Cº while the Tomahawk peaked only at 87Cº

 

That extra heat caused the 3950X to throttle reason why the performance was lower taking 1951 seconds to complete the Blender benchmark opposed to 1819 seconds on the Tomahawk.

 

A terrible and disappointing result to what was the most expensive B450 board on launch.
