Windows 7 on Very Old PC??

Windows 7 on Very Old PC, such as Windows 7 on Pentium MMX PC?

Not gonna work properly. Even if you managed to get it working it would be unusable.

Windows 7 needs 1GB RAM to run.

tbh, if you're looking at a very old PC, you might be better off with a Linux distro

With a PC that old, using a light-weight Linux distro would be better.

If you could get enough ram in there it would crash as soon as it runs into a need for an instruction set that it does not have.  Athlon xp can install window 7 but not with 3 gigs of ram.  Put that in later.  If you launch too big of a program it will reset. No fun.  Can't even run a silly userbenchmark.exe

But why? I have a Pentium 1 PC that has win 98, the OS it came with and it works perfectly fine!  Use it to play old DOS games on "original" hardware,  no issues! 

 

Of course I would never connect it to the Internet,  although it's tempting me sometimes lol...

 

(still has the AOL software installed, ready to go!)

But that's Windows 98, Windows 7 is far more complex than 98.
