Ironwolf HDD 100% activity, 0KB Reads/Writes

So recently my 6TB Seagate Ironwolf (used as storage, not in a NAS or RAID config) started having this issue where it would just get pinned at 100% activity rate in Task Manager.  Accessing the drive became extremely slow to the point where you could time out.  I tried all kinds of things, disabling Real Time scans from W.Defender did work for a bit but then it came back, although less frequent.  You could see drops in usage before spiking back up again when before it was 100% all the time.  Accessing hwInfo and CDMInfo takes forever cos even accessing the sensors and SMART data takes a long time.  It feels like it's about to die, and I've got a replacement drive coming (8TB WD Reds) but would like to save this 6TB one if I can.

Just sounds like a busted drive to me, Have you tried reinstalling it? (Physically) Might just be improper connection.

Yea, swapped drive bays in my new casing and everything.  At first I swapped it cos it was getting real hot, 52c according to CDMInfo.  I thought maybe the heat was the issue, but it turns out it wasn't.

Replaced the cables too? Tried on a different motherboard? I cant really imagine this being a software issue.

I've got my old PC laying around so I might try it on the PC, but yes the cables are new, right out of the mobo box.  Didn't have trouble first few days, just started happening.  Same cable is having no issue connected to a SSD now tho.

Right, Weird. Then it might be a software problem, Though i'm still skeptical lol.

I don't know, I've closed every single running software, and it still happens.  Sounds like hardware.

Go ahead and try the other motherboard. If that doesnt work either i'm gonna place my bets on a busted drive.

So been doing some testing.  Changed cables, changed SATA ports, all of them have the same problem, even using cables 100% fine on my old system.  Moving the HDD back to my old PC, it's perfectly fine WTF??  No clicking, knocking, 0% activity if not accessed.
