So, I have a fairly old build, and I want to upgrade it. I have a budget around $500. System:

a-10 7870k

4x2gb 1600mhz(probably) ram

Gtx 960

These are one's that really matter.

So you can see it's a ddr3 build, so if I'm going to upgrade my cpu I have to upgrade the whole system. I can also just replace my gpu with a better one, and try to deal with the bottleneck for the next one year until I uprade to ddr4. I honestly want to upgrade my gpu, and upgrade the cpu later next year. Now, I'm thinking of 2070super or to wait till ampere cards(woah the bottleneck..) and to upgrade to something that would at least keep up with later, or upgrade to like a ryzen5 3600, a decent motherboard, and some fast 16gb ram. I'm guessing you all would say upgrade the cpu first. But I'm trying to go future proof. So if I get a good gpu, I can stay with it for around 4-5 years, but I don't think a ryzen5 3600 will be a good cpu in 5 years. I hope you get my point. I would like to hear some advice from other people.

Thanks in advance. (Sorry I made it too long)

Just save enough money and buy everything at once.

Its not worth it to buy partially in your case.

Well, right now, I live in United States but I will return to Turkey in mid 2020. Prices are crazy high there. I was thinking which parts should I get while I'm here. Making $500 takes few months in USA (for me), in Turkey making that is harder. So the second wave of upgrade probably will be respectively later. What would you advise now?

Well, in that case if you absolutely have to buy now, upgrade the platform since you won't really benefit much from a better graphics card with what you have now.

Something like Ryzen 5 3600, 2x8GB RAM, B450 motherboard, decent PSU and SSD if you don't have any should fit within $500.

Isn't a x570 would be more future proof?

Also, how long do you think amd will keep using am4? Or intel will use the 1151, that would change my opinion.

I also have a good psu and ssd so that's no problem.
