1. Budget & Location

My friend's budget is under 2000 dollars USD, but I want to stay lower because this is his first computer.

2. Aim

This computer will be for gaming and he wants to be able to run Minecraft and GTA V, and I want it to be able to run many games well since he doesn't exactly know what he wants to play on it yet.

3. Monitors

Two monitors are planned to be used, but nothing is bought yet so I need recommendations.

4. Peripherals

Peripherals are needed, and windows is too.

I've been trying to work on a build (https://pcpartpicker.com/user/reillypc/saved/GBpf99), so feel free to edit this one, or just make a new one and comment it.

Thanks in advance!

this build list looks super solid.

great value board for Ryzen, you could save some cash and get a Ryzen 7 3700X instead because it'll deliver the same gaming experience, and also I recommend a non founders 2070 super since the cooling is not amazing. I use those speakers myself, love em. Super handy to have that headphone port and volume knob up front.

as for monitor:

this would do nicely

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

The 3800X is currently better value as you can get 2 free games (Borderlands 3 and The Outer Worlds) plus 3 months of xbox game pass for pc. Only $30 difference between the two cpu's so worth it overall.

See here:

https://www.amd.com/en/gaming/equipped-to-win

Swapped out the board for the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite wifi. If you want to save some more then switch back to the Tomahawk and separate wifi adapter.

Changed the case for one with equally good airflow. You get 2 x 200mm front fans and 1 rear pre-installed. You can add 1 or 2 cheap fans to the roof if you want.

Changed the HDD to a Seagate for a bit less, and the SSD to the 1TB 660p which is fine for a gaming pc.

The 5700XT trades blows with the 2070S for less cash. The Sapphire Nitro is one of the better versions, along with the Powercolor Red Devil. See the link above for another free game (BL3 or Ghost Recon Breakpoint) and another 3 months of xbox game pass.

I left the peripherals the same.
