Just got a Ryzen 7 CPU and i'm going through the works to make sure it's working correctly. I'm not familiar enough with power consumption to know if it is pulling to much power. Currently downloading a game, and doing some light browsing, and it's getting peak speeds of around 3.850GHz according to Ryzen Master. I think I saw around 4GHz is normal for gaming, but i'm not doing anything at all really and it's running it kind of close. Sometimes breaching 4 GHz.

In addition, Ryzen Master is saying my EDC(CPU) is at 99% of 90 A, Limit 168 A, whatever that means. I've changed my power plan to balanced, set minimum to 5%, applied it, and tinkered around with other power plan options, but the EDC is still showing red. This seems to have been the solution for other people, but not me I guess.

Help would be much appreciated.

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700

RAM: 16GB Dual-Channel Team T-Force Vulcan-Z DDR4 3000

Motherboard: MSI b450 Gaming Plus

GFX Card: GeForce GTX 1070 (Gigabyte)

Storage: 931GB Western Digital WDC SSD and 931GB Western Digital WDC HD

Optical Drive: TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224DB

PSU: Seassonic Focus Gold 80+ 550W

Ryzen Power Plan wasn't listed as an option in the power selection options. Using Regular Windows Balanced. Bios is a couple of months behind current version. Windows is up to date.

I'll try updating BIOS. Gotta fish out a flash drive from somewhere though.

Okay updated BIOS. CPU speeds seem to be the same as before so no progress on that front, but now the issue seems to be slightly different. The EDC has gone down to fluctuating numbers. Hovering up and down around 65% of 90 A, Limit 168 A. Which if it stayed there that would be fine I guess, but the EDC rapidly shoots to 99% anytime I do any sort of input. Like if I play a Youtube video, it constantly stays at 99%. If I pause it, it returns to around 65%. If I move my mouse around without stopping or hold down a keyboard button it will shoot up to 99% as well. So now it's linked to user input or if the computer sends any sort of signal like audio I guess.

Any ideas?

Can you post some screenshots of HWinfo64 showing CPU and CPU enhanced read outs. Also a screenshot of ryzen master.
