NAS HDD not visible when plugged internally.

Ok so.. normally i would be able to fix this.. but while i try to, i figured i would post my problem here to maybe save me some troubleshooting time ..

 

My problem is.. i've got a 2TB Seagate Firewolf (NAS) HDD which i've been using internally for some time.. and recently i wanted to place it inside my NAS for testing purposes..

 

When doing so the NAS had to "prepare the drive" for use with the NAS.. sort of like reformatting the HDD without losing the files.. ok so thats done..

 

FYI. i believe the format was JBOD (Just a bunch of disks). But i dont remember if it was actually formatted or not... Hence the reason i wrote "prepare the drive" for use with the NAS.

 

i should also mention the NAS was empty and not used before.. and the disk i put in there was the only disk inside.. so No RAID settings were applied to it..

 

After my testing concluded i now want to take out the HDD from the NAS and place it back internally into my PC Case.

 

With everything plugged in neatly i turned on my PC and here's the issue..

 

In My Computer the 2TB Drive is not visible.

So i checked Disk Management and tried to assign a drive letter to it. But it wont let me since all of the alternatives are greyed out, except DELETE VOLUME.

 

So my thoughts are.. its as if my NAS has taken ownership of the drive or something and wont allow me to make any changes to it other than formating everything on it..

 

I will continue to try and fix this but would appreciate some inputs as its been awhile since i needed to tinker with HDDs while not losing any data..
