Just plug the monitor into the GPU and the intel iGPU should turn itself off

Afaik you don’t need to.  It will work or not work as you wish.

It is important to not plug your monitor into the integrated graphics por but into the actual card.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Then you can disable it in your motherboard bios, but there's nothing wrong with just leaving it on since it can accelerate video playback at pretty low power.
