Soo... i think my HDMI-Cable might be to cheap ;-)

Just got a SONY 55" XF90 TV (HDR10 + HLG + Dolby Vision) and connected my PC (GTX 1050 ti 4gb) it has HDMI 2.0b
and i knew this most likely would be a problem, but used a cheap 1.5 $ hdmi cable :D (worked fine on my old 1080p TV)

Right now:
4K 30FPS + HDR works
or
4K 60FPS (with no HDR)

is it the data bandwidth ? and what do i look for, so that i get a good cable for the money (don't get ripped off)

i only need a short cable (2 feet run)

Kind Regards
from Denmark

There is such a thing as a hdmi2 cable, which it seems you do not have.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

Apparently there are not.. as i understand it they are classified as "high speed HDMI Cable" or "Ultra high speed HDMI Cable" and the HDMI 1.4 + HDMI 2.0 + HDMI 2.1 is incorrect classifications for cables.. but i'm not 100% sure !?

I don’t think dropping $6-10 for a cable tested to work at the speeds is a bad idea. Especially when you have spent so much on the devices at either end of it...

Seems reasonable, I tend to avoid the cheapest cables and go for £6-12 depending on length. I don’t mind paying for someone to have done all the testing to make sure it’s up to spec, even if making it doesn’t cost more than those sold for £2-5
