Screen keeps turning black when apps are in full screen

Happens everywhere, from games, to youtube videos to netflix (but ONLY when in fullscreen)

Updated display drivers and GPU drivers (RX 5700XT which was installed yesterday) and still no fix.

Found an old thread that suggested changing to 59Hz, and another suggesting changing to 59Hz and then back to 60Hz, that didn't work either.

Suggestions?

I will complain about high prices in Norway given the oportunity.

do you have a G-sync compatible monitor?

because i have a problem that sounds like this (mine flickered) when i wen't from a fullscreen game like csgo to change a youtube video on my second monitor (or if i just alt tabbed to something else on my main monitor).

To me it happened consistantly when tabbing in and out of fullscreen mode, but after just ignoring it for 3 hours it stopped flickering black for some reason and now it's just running with G-sync enabled

It is a $100 1080p 60Hz display that I bought 4 or 5 years ago. I'm pretty sure it's not G-sync compatible. In any case I'm not using a Nvidia GPU. @flashiling

hmm.

Is it possible to see a video of the flickering?

also try to check if you have selected your new gpu as the main graphics card, maybe your pc didn't automatically make it the new one so it just booted looking for the old gpu and didn't see it so it swapped to your cpu.

Do you want me to send a clip of it happening?

Its definitely going via the GPU, because in TimeSpy I saw a 50% increase in GPU performance after installing the new GPU. I'm getting the FPS I should in non-CPU intensive games, but in games like HOI4 which are CPU heavy, I've seen a almost 50% decrease in FPS.
