Do you guys think that a Intel Core i7 4770 would be a compelling upgrade form an i7 3770? and would a newer CPU such as the 4770 work in a dell optiplex 7010 which currently holds a i7 3770? This is the Motherboard and CPU reports from Speccy

It's really not that big of a bump.  I doubt the effort and cost is justified by the small IPC bump you'll get by going to Haswell, seeing as it's only about 1-2 years newer than the IvyBridge you have now.

What exact gain are you hoping to get by doing an incremental CPU change?  If it's gaming, I'd suggest getting a newer platform and preparing to sell / repurpose that Dell OEM.

I was hoping to get a performance boost while video editing using DaVinci Resolve, what I mean by that is I want faster export times, and a smother editing experience. I've determined that the CPU is my main bottleneck currently, and its also a bottleneck while playing GTA V, which is one of the few games I actually play on my PC

Your motherboard has socket 1155 LGA, so you can only fit CPUs that use this socket. The i7 4xxx needs socket 1150, which means it's not compatible with your motherboard.

Can't upgrade that machine to something better CPU wise, you would need a new motherboard and all...not worth it at that point just get a new machine if you need more performance.
