So I plan on getting a new monitor for the holidays and was looking at this Ultrawide that's 34 inch, 1440p, 6ms and 100hz.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YWPMRXC/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza?th=1#HLCXComparisonWidget_feature_div

Do you think it's a good monitor for the price, or are there similar monitors that are cheaper? My previous monitor is a 27 inch 1080p ips 60hz display and I really want to get an ultrawide for gaming and editing/web browsing.

Or do you think Ultrawides are overrated and I should go for this instead https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_wl_huc_item ? (I also have a second 720p hd tv that I use as a second display or for console gaming)

Thanks.

The first monitor looks like it's either a scam or is gonna have something shit with it; either shit build quality, a shit panel, lots of ghosting, or something like that. I wouldn't get it.

The LG is a good monitor tho

Why is that? All the reviews do seem good...is it because it's not a recognizable brand?

Yeah. LTT did a video on a monitor with the same concept, and iirc they basically said what I said, that there would be one (or more) huge weak points in the monitor.

Just get the LG or an ultrawide with less features that is from a name brand.

I'm having an extremely hard time finding other monitors that have similar specs that are under 400. I would like to get an ultrawide that is similar but not over 400$, some things might come on sale though for cybermonday...

Sorry for all the messages butttt I found another monitor for a great deal. It's starting to sink in that if I get a 2k ultrawide I will have no money left for anything else, and my gtx 1060 6gb will probably suffer greatly. Is a 34inch 1080p ultrawide too low of a resolution?
