With Black Friday looming over i decided i wanna upgrade to from a 2600 with Asus PRIME B450-PLUS to a 3600 along with a MB but i'm not sure what to get.

So any suggestions would be great

I'm looking for the best Value - something not too pricey
two additional feature that i would really like

  1. Lots of IO would be really great.
  2. PCIE Gen 4 -  I'm a photographer and in the future fast storage is something I'll probably need down the line

These are kind of a cherry on top so they arent a must.

P.S i know i dont have to upgrade my MB, I am considering that option.

What's your budget?

I am a bit partial to MSI personnally, but here is a link. You can click through the X570 boards. The one you land on with this link is only $129, and would be usable with your existing processor as well as a 3600.

Around 100-150 I think I might be able to go some thing a bit pricer if the specs are right.

Was going to ask the same question but with a smaller budget, but around 80-100

It will be the base for a R3600 with an radeon rx 5700 (or a 2070 super if the price is right) and 16gb pc3000 ram

Something passed me by on gamers nexus about motherboards playing a big part in ryzen performance.

I game and mess about with sketchup. at 1440p (60fps is enough for me)

I'd like to know I'm not hamstringing the CPU with a shit mother board and the price range I'm shopping at is a minefield I'm sure.

LOOK AT THE RGB! not the appalling airflow for the VRMs etc

My ivy bridge and gtx1070 needs to retire

Right now i think my 1070TI will stay for foreseeable future unless Cyberpunk 2077 has some insane spec req :)

I'll probably hold off on that upgrade until i upgrade my monitor (Right now with an ultrawide 1080P )

If you're getting an R5 3600, and RX 5700, that's a great combo. You're saving enough money on the two that you could by a bit nicer mother board.

Newegg has a Black Friday deal on this ASUS Tuf Gaming X570 Plus. Better VRMs than most comparable MSI boards... great reviews from this line by most reviewers on YouTube. Only $179, and you wouldn't have to worry about much else.

If you look at my build in my signature, you'll see what I was able to do with about $1,700, without any parts on hand. RX 5700 is a beast of a card. I mostly play Path of Exile and I get 90 FPS on it without a problem.

While I'm itching to get a new GPU, with the monitor i have right now doesn't make much sense.

it's a Ultra wide 1080P 60Hz (3 years ago you had to really choose between color accuracy and resolution and frame rate) going with something stronger would kinda be a "waste" so unless i get a really good deal on a used one (like i got my 1070TI for 200$)
