3900x or 9900k

hello so in my country the 3900x is (combined with more expensive mobo) like 90 euros(99us) more expensive than the 9900k

paired with an RTX 2080 SUPER 1440p 144hz monitor i will use the build for gaming (mostly) and autodesk maya and stuff 

im really back and forth but i dont know if the 3900x is worth the 90 euros more(in case i wont upgrade my 3200 ram to 3600) especially in gaming i have seen some really big differences!

i dont know how the 9900k will perform in my renders (its still a HT 8 core) as i come from an 3770k!

any suggestion or help?thnx

Get the Ryzen chip.

 

 

Also, you said that the Ryzen chip *with a more expensive motherboard* was more expensive than a 9900k. Maybe just get a slightly cheaper motherboard.

whatever you think about Intel vs AMD the truth of the matter is that the AM4 platform probably has more legs compared to Z390.  AMD has already stated support until 2020 and since Zen 7NM + will just be a refresh (to my knowledge) in theory the AM4 platform should get another gen chip.  I think it is all but confirmed that Intel's 10NM will require new motherboards.

 

Either way as a former 3900X owner it's a hell of a chip.  Multi core it's basically performs like a Threadripper 2950X and it is close to competing with a 9900K in gaming.  At $500 it's kind of a no brainer unless you only game at 1080P, use a 200+ Hz monitor, and will not use more than 8 cores.  But in my mind that is a lot of caveats for a i9 9900K or KS.

TLDR is the Ryzen's motherboards aren't at a dead end and confirmed for Ryzen 4000, Z390 (9900k motherboards) is dead and most of them are $$$ so unless you are coming from a weaker processor that uses same mobo, and can handle 9900k it doesn't make too much sense. 

buy a decent midrange b450/x470 board, or a cheap x570 so long as its not a cheap MSI x570 board (for cheap x570 ASUS is the best, Gigabyte and ASrock trading for 2nd depending on how cheap they are), you'll be good to upgrade if you want to in about a years time, assuming you'd even need to, the 3900x is already a beast.
