Hello I was looking into USB-C monitors but I am not sure how they work, do you specifically need a laptop with USB-C or can you also use a HDMI port to USB-C. I saw some cables that go from HDMI to USB-C but I am confused about what you would use them for as they would not be able to power a monitor?

Does somekind of splitter exist for these portalbe USB-C monitors so you can plug in both power and signal?

Will something like this work, but then in reverse? from HMDI to USB-C?
