Hi all!

I've been out of the PC building / laptop scene for too long and I'm a bit lost in all the options around. I do have a fairly decent set of requirements and a clear budget so I hope someone here can help me out?

Max budget: €1200

Country: The Netherlands

Usage: This laptop is for an art student majoring in animation and 3D modeling. She uses Blender and After effects mostly, also a few drawing programs but those are not as heavy to run. In the battle between performance and battery she leans towards performance because she always plugs her laptop in anyway. A medium sized laptop is preferred and a color accurate display would be a nice to have.

Programs used most often:

  • Blender
  • Adobe After Effects

Requirements:

  • A quad core CPU
  • A decent GPU (probably Nvidia for the Cuda cores with Adobe, around a 1660 I'm guessing)
  • 512gb ssd
  • 8gb of ram (maybe an open slot so it is up gradable to 16gb down the road)
  • around 15.6"
  • No Macbooks
  • 60Hz display is fine

Nice to haves:

  • Color accurate display
  • 16gb of ram
  • Not too gamery looking

Any advice is greatly appreciated. The amount of laptops to choose from is very overwhelming.
