Anything you'd change in the listed build?

The Ryzen 7 3700X will deliver the same experience as the 3800X so the extra cost isn't really worth it.

For a gaming PC, Samsung SSDs cost too much, consider an Intel 660p or sabrent rocket or Kingston A2000 instead

Hello everyone!

I recently bought a LG 27GL850 and it scared the s$%t out of my GTX 770 which sadly died on me minutes after I pluged it in for the first time.

I'm looking to build a new PC for 1440p 144hz gaming and here's what I came up with:

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 3.9 GHz 8-Core Processor  (€394.93 @ Amazon Italia)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H150i PRO 47.3 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  (€168.49 @ Amazon Italia)
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard  (€297.88 @ Amazon Italia)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory  (€128.44 @ Amazon Italia)
Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  (€109.90 @ Amazon Italia)
Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (€125.00)
Video Card: Asus GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8 GB STRIX GAMING OC Video Card  (€900.00)
Case: Phanteks Evolv X ATX Mid Tower Case  (€199.90 @ Amazon Italia)
Power Supply: Corsair RMx (2018) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply  (€99.00)
Total: €2423.54

Another option I considered is a 9900K paired with an Asus Maximus XI Hero (Wi-Fi) for something like 100€ more.

The thing that bugs me is that Intel is (according to rumours) releasing it's 10th gen of CPUs in Q1 2020. Looks like we're getting the 10700K (8C/16T), hopefully with a lower price tag and higher performance. All that on a new socket.

Would it be an option to wait for that and just buy the 2080 Super now? I have an i5-4690K on a Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H with 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX 1600MHz RAM.

What would you do? Wait or splash 2.5k€ on a new build now?

Would the 2080 super give me atleast 60fps in 1440p when paired with the 4690K?

Thanks!

Don't wait for CPU releases based on rumors, you'll have a bad time. We don't have any idea what Intel will bring to the table.

A Ryzen 7 with a 2080 super is a good pairing, waiting for new Intel CPUs won't get you much more performance

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You're right, we have no idea what's coming. Saw the 10980XE reviews... not expecting much. Was just nice seeing an i7 with HyperThreading that might match the 9900K in the various rumours floating around.

Ever since I bought that 770 I've been salty about it... 970 came like a month after that. Maybe I'm focusing too much on what's coming.
