Are yyou actually doing anything that requires that NVME Drive? I would suggest get 2-4 TB SSD's instead that will give you much better storage space the speeds.

@Shimejii  Thank you for the suggestion. The main title of this build is the speed and I want every ounce of it. I'm not sure about what to pick, so picked the one of the fastest one from the shelf.

Speed is only useful to where its needed.  Something Like this 2 TB SSD  Could be useful.  Or you could do this NVME SSD thats 1 TB for much cheaper as a Boot drive, then the other SSD as normal storage  And still get pretty much the same performance.

Now do note if you do Video editing large file etc you are better off with the EVO BUT even then thats a business side of things more then hobby

Imo unless you are doing some professional work on your PC and large video file editing, a QLC nvme drive like a 660p or p1 is a much better value than the 970 and you won't know the difference

For my Ryzen build, I wanted OS to load as fast as possible, and I didn't want to partition a bigger capacity SSD into two smaller one (like 400GB for OS and related programs, 600GB for storage/games). Also, I had to account for overprovision (20%) so I chose a 256GB Sabrent Rocket NVMe M.2 SSD for OS, and 4TB + 2TB + 2x 1TB SSD's for games. I figured that the difference in load time for game levels between SATA SSD's and NVMe M.2 SSD's is negligible (seen YT vids on this, and load times for NVMe M.2 were a tad faster than SATA SSD's).

I load my fave games into my various SATA SSD's and I don't think I want them in plain old platter HDD's anymore. I play Metro Exodus, and Artyom doesn't even have time to finish his monologues before the levels are loaded. Yes, I do have one WD 6TB Black HDD, but that's for games that I don't play that often.
