Looking for a high-ish end gaming laptop. Maybe something that can run most games at 60+ FPS on Med-Ultra settings. A 4+ hour battery life and being relatively portable would be great to.
Wants:

vr ready

good touch pad

144hz refresh rate

Thunderbolt 3

Sub-par audio is fine. And older used models are fine too.

ive been looking at used 2017 Razer Blade Pros (both versions)

I would personally go with a Dell G5, Alienware, or ASUS laptop.

Dell G5: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/gaming-and-games/dell-g5-15-gaming-laptop/spd/g-series-15-5590-laptop/gn5590dmqus This laptop has everything you'd want, though it's only 8GBs versus 16GBs but that shouldn't be too much of an issue, plus it has Thunderbolt 3 for less than $1,200.
Asus: They have a handful of laptops that all fit these requirements, though I have no personal experience with them.
MSI: Whatever you do avoid these laptops at all cost. Extremely poor customer service in my experience and they love overheating.
Now's a great time to get laptops, 10-series Intel CPUs and 30-series GTX Cards, on top of all the advancements AMD is making, plus Black Friday / Cyber Monday is around the corner, and prices will only drop more until Christmas.
