Posted November 25, 2019 Hello, I just bought the parts I need for the first PC configuration I'm doing on my own. I followed a link in one Linus video for a PSU wattage calculator (https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator). The Recommended PSU Wattage shown there for my build is about 500 W. I bought a 550W PSU. However, I just saw that the box of my GPU says that I need a minimum of 600 W. Could you consult me about how I could make sure if my wattage is enough or if I should buy another PSU? Here is my PC build: GPU - Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 GAMING OC 8G; CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - I plan on using the stock cooler at first, but depending on the temperatures I might buy another one; PSU - Corsair RM550x; Motherboard - ASRock B450M Pro4; SSD - Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB; RAM - 2X8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX, CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16; Case - FractalDesign Define Mini C - again, depending on the thermals I might need to buy a fan or two in addition to the ones included in the case. I would be happy to hear your opinions about the PSU issue, but also any general recommendations about this build. Thanks! Posted November 25, 2019 600W recommendation of ANY PSU, including crappy ones with few week lines (and 600W in total if you add everything together). If you have good PSU (and you have one) this is more than enough. Posted November 25, 2019 They (GPU companies) assume people will use awful PSU's so they purposefully recommend higher wattage PSU's. Your RM550X is an excellent PSU and will run this system with no issues at all.
