Hey there! I want to know if I can mix 1 stick of Kingston 8GB 1600mhz with 1 stick of HyperX Fury 8GB 1600mhz. I know that mixing from different manufacturers can be risky but I found them cheap so maybe will be worth. I visited asus site for QVL ram but got me confused so maybe you can help me. Thanks!

its fine. but the system will time both on the slowest ram

example

ram 1 - 1600 mhz

ram 2 - 1800 mhz.

the system will follow the 1600mhz

example 2

ram 1 -1600 cl 12

ram 2 -1600 cl 10

the system will follow the ram with 1600 cl 12.

Try. if it boots it works i guess.
But it should definitely not do any damage if it fits like its supposed to.
And like @amdorintel and @Martin2132 said, it will work at the slowest module speed.

It could very well work fine at 1600Mhz, but likely if the CAS latency is different,..between sticks,.. it'll use 1333Mhz or keep 1600Mhz but use the slowest timing stick and use those values globally across the remaining faster sticks)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

You can even use different size stick btw. My other PC has 10GB ram hehehe 1x8GB and 1x2GB works like a charm, and no it only became faster but then W10 does need/want a nice amount of RAM.

though, you might want to take advantage of dual or triple channel depending if the cPU and motherboard supports it.
