Hi, my dad is looking to purchase a Valve Index VR headset which requires a decent pc. I've researching building a pc in the past so he asked if I could help him out. He is still not sure if he wants a pre-built pc or if he wants to build his own. We like to save money though and i feel like building a pc would be the most cost effective thing for us to do. I put together this system for him based on some recommended specs i found online. Is there anything wrong with it, such as compatibility issues. Does anyone have recommendations for me. Also, I am trying to keep the cost low.

Also, can anyone explain this? 1377462951_Screenshot(3).thumb.png.c260fb42223f11d5729b96432fd983fb.png

Thx in advance for you're help.

go with a ryzen 5 3600 and a tower cooler. The 2 notes aren't really important, also get a different case.

Can you clarify what a tower cooler is. I looked it up butnothing came up. Also just wondering what's wrong with the case?

A tower cooler is a regular air cooler. Cryorig makes good ones, as do Scythe and Noctua. The Case is old, and there are better ones out there like the fractal design meshify c, and the H510 from NZXT

Ok, I went with the meshify C. It seems to be a pretty strong case, although I may need to purchase a few extra case fans. Also the Ryzen 5 3600 comes with a cooler but I’ve heard bad things about coolers that come with the cpu. Would you recommend using the cooler it comes with or purchasing another one. Thx for you’re help!

Good choice on the Meshify, I have it and its great. Yes, you should probably purchase a couple extra fans for it. The stock cooler on the Ryzen 5 3600 is meh, its usable, but not great. I'd just spend 50$ on a decent air cooler such as Mugen 5. 90% of the performance of an AIO, 1/2 the price. No problem btw, for the help! :D

I added the Mugen 5. I’ve been looking at motherboards with an am4 chipset for the ryzen 5 and I heard that some 450 boards may not work because of a BIOS update so I went with a 570 board but then this compatibility issue popped up.F3E14781-7296-422E-A337-5AC9F0600118.jpeg.c2964e75a35c6e116cf0c4ea7aa83c13.jpeg

Any way I could avoid that?

The 4-pin is useless unless you are doing LN2 overclocking, so you can ignore it.
