Hey, so currently I'm running an i5-7600k, 16gb 2400 RAM and a 1060 6gb using a 1080p 60hz monitor. Nothing special. And with it being Black Friday I thought I might get an upgrade, but I'm stuck at a crossroad. On one hand, I could get a 144hz 1080p monitor which would make my esports games look smoother and all the other nice things you have with those monitors, or I could get a 1070 for pretty cheap and run my current games at higher settings. Asking for some advice on which to choose, cheers.

If you can't significantly push past 60 FPS, then don't consider a high refresh rate monitor. Even if the 1070 can blow right past the 60 FPS mark, you can still use Fast Sync to prevent screen tearing and minimize input lag.

I’d go monitor.

my 1060 (oc’d) does 3440 x 1440 at 100fps easy,

(modern warfare, most maxed settings, resolution scaling 80 so slightly above 1080p)

if it was me any day I’d go monitor out of those two, and I did ;;)
