Should I play hot potato with my computers?

Go to solution Solved by Fasauceome,

If anything it's at least worth trying just to see if the performance meets your standards.

Upstairs setup; dell optiplex (i7 2600, 16gb ram, rx 580 4gb, 240 ssd, 1tb blue, 75hz freesync panel)

Downstairs: i7-6700, gtx 1070, 16gb ram, 240 ssd 2tb wd red, 1440p 60hz panel

I am thinking of moving the system with the 1070 over to the 75hz 1080p freesync setup which I use more often lately do you think the 580 system could handle modest 1440p gaming? Should I just move the entire setup upstairs? Ideally I'd spring for a 1440p 144hz but, it's not in the cards right now.
