Dear readers,

I have a acer laptop that has never ever worked properly. But fine.. Well actually not fine cuz it was €1700...... suchs a bad choice. For the last year my laptop screen wont turn on. ( the laptop it self turns on!)

 Now i find in the web that mutiple people have this issue. Its called the black screen of death. Thought if i hook up a external monitor. It just shows the acer splash screen... And then nothing happends. No boot, no beeps, no nothing

 I button mashed f2 ans got in the bios. I can see the bios on the external monitor though not on my laptop screen.

When i set the bios mode from uefi to legacy, the screen of my laptop turns on. So its not faulty. Though when in legacy bios mode, the laptop wont boot. It says no bootable device found. Switching back to bios mode uefi. The laptop screen wont turn on anymore.

So in short;

The screen works.

The laptop works.

I reseated the ram.

Reseated every ribbon cable i could find.

Uefi bios mode only shows acer spalsh screen on external monitor. And main display stays black. Not even the backlight goes on. Its just off.

Legaxy bios mode makes the screen work again though i cant boot in to widows cuz it says there is no bootable device while there is one.

What is my next move people?

Make a bootable device and try legacy mode? What is the differece between uefi en legacy?

I added some pics so u guys see what im struggling with.

Uefi bios mode, black screen on laptop. Splash screen on external.
