Asus Z390 Prime-A for 9900k@5.0Ghz

I have the MSI Z390 Gaming Edge AC and it managed to hold my 9900KF at 5.1GHz all cores stable, at 5.2 my computer blue screened as soon as it loaded windows lol

It's not even good for 9700k

don't buy Asus then, Gigabyte Aorus Elite/Pro is the way

I use Gigabyte's BIOS on multiple systems. It's fine.

Ultra is just the Pro WiFi with an extra M.2 slot and I think Type-C in the rear I/O, usually priced too high for such a minor change. the Master is the proper upgrade from the Pro.

the z390 elite is a better board for cheaper, though newegg's made it 170usd instead of 150.

 

Even if the prime-a runs the 9900k the vrm would be around 100C or higher
