Spam with registration, money requested on pypal

Hey.

This morning from 6am I woke up and saw many spam emails on gmail with registration on multiple websites. Russian webs, wordpress etc.

What caught my eye was that something popped up from paypal. I logged in and there is email added to it and $500 was requested from my bank account. What do I do about it? This never happened to me.

If your account(s) have been hacked, your first step is to secure them, to prevent further damages. Set up 2FA if possible. Then worry about getting your money back. Like I said, you should probably contact PayPal directly.

First things first, do NOT click anything in the "mail from paypal" it could be a phishing scam. ALWAYS go to paypal directly through a browser or the official app.

you probably put your email to some scam website.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

if i did it wasnt intentional

the thing is how why was my paypal affected too?

It's possible that your email and/or password was part of a leak somewhere, e.g. when some website was hacked.

The hackers will then simply try that email/password on popular services like ebay, paypal, etc. because many people use the same password for multiple sites.

They will probably also use the email for other purposes like phishing and spam.
