GTX 1070 Dissapeared from device manager after trying to install drivers from geforce experience

So I was installing a driver the newest one and it said it failed, then in device manager the 1070 is missing and my external monitor stopped working. (alienware 15 laptop) Please help guys

On driver easy it shows up as "(unplugged)" wtf I didn't even touch my laptop for a month it's on a stand connected to my monitor, it disappeared after I tried to install drivers from geforce experience.

Driver install screwup most likely imho.  I hate GeForce experience.  Buggy, terrible GUI.  DDU driver and attempt reinstall perhaps.

ok phew fixed it, god damn I was panicking. Back to 240hz yeahh

You shouldn't use GFE for updating drivers ever. 

 

It's known the be very buggy - doesn't help they're trying to push it any chance they get I guess... 

 

 

DDU your current driver, reinstall old driver (good luck finding that though, if it's a really old one because Nvidia likes to pull older drivers from their site)

ddu uninstall, and install drivers from official nvidia website
