Hello.

Im having some troubles in some games, mostly modern warfare, my graphics card says 12% usage. i got overall good fps in modern warfare. high on 1440p 100-130 fps. and in some maps 70-100. i just dont understand the low GPU usage

TridentZ Neo 3200Mhz 32GB Ram

M.2 1TB disc + SSD 1TbB

ASUS TUF x570 motherboard

I thought I was having the same issue in modern warfare  with my GTX 1080 but as it turns out it was just windows miss reporting. I would recommend downloading EVGA Precision x1  or equivalent software and checking. If you think about it the 2060 Super spitting out 117 frames at 12% usage would be remarkable

No your CPU is not the bottleneck. I also found that particularly on the ground war maps it could sometimes go down to as low as 70 fps

i downloaded the program u said and it showed 98% usage! an above 7000mb usage.. :) so i guess everything is fine then! u think 100-140 fps is good for 1440p?

ye i notice that as well on ground war.. and that british map piccadelly or something is really bad.. so bad. goes down to 60 sometimes..

Glad to hear it. I get about the same at 1440p with a 1080 so that sounds about right.

And the low framerates occasionally is something I think you will probably have to deal with or you could try tinkering with the graphics setting

Uhm, i do wonder when you had Taskmanager open was the game still in foreground playing?
Cus if not thats the reason it says 12% nothing wrong with Taskmanager since it works like it should.
Its just the perception of it was wrong. ?

Try running taskmanager on a separate monitor and play the game you'll see the difference. (Or its a driver issue ive not known about).

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

Oh well then thats clearly a driver issue. And should not happen. But then again its Windows after all. ?
Sorry for doubting you. :)

ps my reasoning was that i never saw an issue with the metering. As can be seen on the picture. (And yes RL on 250fps only uses 60%ish on my 1060 6GB)

People use task manager for monitoring? ?

Just use hwinfo,  msi afterburner or similar!

If you gonna suggest monitoring stuff, at least tell them about rainmeter.
I monitor all without Taskmanager and it also looks kinda nice.
Cant have enough info about my machine, saved me so much troubles.

Oh yeah if you have spare CPU cycles i can very much recomend it. But most ppl dont really need it. ;)
Also the rainmeter stuff i use you can find by googling "rainmeter addgadgets"

How much CPU % does this use?

And can it play videos too instead of just music?

dont use precision x. use afterburner from msi. And pair it with RTSS (rivatuner) to have an overlay in game. check youtube to see how to set it up. And it will show you while gaming so you dont need to alt tab to check. which could then give differentr % due to being alt tabbed out of a game.

Under 2% on my 1700X @ 4Ghz

It doesnt play anything, it just shows what Winamp is playing.
Winamp can do video's never tried to get the album art to show video tho. (I'd rather just use MPC or VLC to play a vid. Since both can removed all the buttons and such to just have the video there.)
