Hello everyone!
I was just wondering whether LTT could use audience to research which corks in the videos work well and which not. To give you an example, lets roll back to the cringy thumbnails situation from a while ago.
So, instead of doing something about their videos and then wondering whether it was worth it from the statistics, LTT could just find a focus group on the forum and give them a form to fill in concerning some new techniques or important content issues. As a reward it could be possible to introduce special badges, perhaps even some merch (possibly exclusive since you have artist on site) for active members (it is also possible to boost synergy effect if collaborate with floatplane and give out subscriptions). This way, a quality feedback on important questions is guaranteed, and for the "clients" it would be intertesting to recieve smth in reward.
If something like that is already implemented, feel free to ignore this post :)

A focus group on the forum would not be representative of their average viewer cross section. Consider that they have millions of subscribers, and the forum only makes up a small portion of that viewerbase.

People on the forums are already more dedicated fans by default, since they went out of their way to go through the effort of creating an account here, and therefore cannot represent the average viewer.

YouTube has tools where it shows user clicks and how long people watch the videos and such. The stats they need are built into the video platform and they can see by the numbers of subscriber growth and like/dislike ratio. You can get alot out of a video with this information. it doesnt take a scientist to see if a video doesnt work if X is different. The fact is that LTT videos on youtube are for a bigger audience then users in the forums having a focus group with only forum members would leave a big part of their viewer base out.
