When new AMD CPU's using socket AM4 are released older boards will need a BIOS update to recognize and use the new CPU. You will need to update your motherboards BIOS's using your old CPU before you can install the new CPU. Posted November 22, 2019 If you do an update be sure read all of the notes before installing. Do not install the most recent BIOS updates if using a Pinnacle, Raven, Summit or Bristol Ridge. I think those are the names of the 2nd generation Ryzen batches. I'm using a different ASRock B450 board, but I only updated P1.80 for my Pro4 board.
