I need to switch a hard drive from a laptop to another laptop, what i do is i swap hard drives from two laptops. If i do this, do i need to reinstall windows OS because the both hard drive are already previously install with windows. And do i need to worry about the drivers, like do i need to delete the drivers from the old laptop or do i need to reinstall drivers for the laptop that the hard drive is currently in? Or are there anything that i need to do if i take out the hard drives from both laptops and swapping them?

  1. Create a Windows install USB/CD
  2. Swap HDDs
  3. Hope everything works
  4. Reinstall Windows on either laptop if not (Windows 10 reset will let you choose to keep your files)

Back up those drives before you try anything.

As long as anyone is oppressed, no one will be safe and free.

One has to be proactive, not reactive, to ensure the safety of one's data so backup your data! And RAID is NOT a backup!
