User Contributable List of Forum Features

In general, the idea is to maintain a list of Keyboard Shortcuts, and possibly useful techniques/tools that relate to using the forum.

One idea would be to implement it as a thread, which allows users to comment to discuss forum use tips and tricks and to make list addition suggestions. The first post in the thread would be a well maintained list of forum features (and how to use them), as well as keyboard shortcuts related to the forum.

 

The idea could be expanded into a useful guide. Below is an example of a very basic layout that the threads OP could have.

To start, some useful keyboard shortcuts I have found are:

• Ctrl + I
  • italicizes text
• Ctrl + B
  • bolds text
• Ctrl + U
  • underlines text
• Home
  • Scrolls to the top of the page.

Some useful tips and tricks:

• Always quote others. This always notifies them when you reply, ensuring that you get faster and more thorough replies.
• When posting "help" questions, always check the solution box on a reply that answers your question. This marks the question as already answered and displays the solution at the top of the thread.

Beyond it, I don't think sharing COMMON keyboard shortcuts which are only for the desktop anyway helps that much.
