Hey guys, need some help choosing a new monitor! it's time i got a new monitor, been using this for around about 6 years, it's some old BenQ 1920x1080@120hz with a few dead pixels. I'm so out of the loop with monitors! I don't know if i should get a 1440p monitor@144hz or get a 1080p@240hz? I do play a bit of competitive gaming "overwatch ect" but i do tend to have it on low settings to not have as much input lag. I do turn my settings to max when i am playing story/rpg games. My current build has a RTX 2080s and a i7 8700k@4.7

1440p 144hz. I use one except mine is curved and has HDR. You're build it more than enough to max out the games at that resolution. Cause I can and have no where near those parts.

Alright man, was just worried about input lag because everyone in the competitive scene just run 1080p. Do you recommend any monitors? Nothing stupidly expensive and 1ms response time.

I'm not sure if any have a real 1ms response time. A lot of them say they do but then really its 4ms.

The model (Dell) in my signature is pretty nice.

Others I've had tried are:

AOC CQ32G1

Asus ROG Strix XG32VQ

Acer predator model I never had but I hear there pretty great as well.

I picked this monitor up, if you are in America its a great option (GFT27DB). 1440p and 144hz, for a really reasonable price. Stand that comes with it does suck, but it does offer VESA compatibility. I love the picture that comes out of it, and now at 1440p and 144 hz I will not go back to gaming on a 1080 or sub 120 hz panel.

Its on sale too from what I paid for it. I have had G-Sync turned on for over a month and no issues thus far. A buddy of mine has it as well, and we both love the hell out of it. Look up this review of it.

My First (Current) Build:

Ryzen 7 2700 (3.90 1.35v OC) | Asus Prime X470 Pro | G.Skill Ripjaws V 16gb 3200 | Inland Professional 512gb M.2 NVME | Samsung 860 Evo Sata M.2 1TB | Corsair H115i Platinum | Corsair ML 140 RGB Fans | Fractal Design Meshify C | EVGA RTX 2070 XC Ultra

Laptop:

HP Spectre X360 13t Gem Cut (i7 8565u, 240gb, 8gb mem)

My Ride:

2015 VW Golf TDI Sportwagen

Eventually an XJ manual...
