'No Signal' Error after Windows logo on startup when using DisplayPort

I'm running an RX580 8GB and am picking up an Oculus Rift tomorrow. To run it I need an HDMI port, my card only has one, which is currently in use for my monitor. To free up this port I bought a DisplayPort to HDMI cable, I've confirmed this cable works with my brother's computer.

The problem that this thread is about arises when I boot up my computer with the displayport to hdmi cable, displayport in the computer and hdmi in the monitor. It shows me the ASROCK logo from my motherboard and then a Windows logo with the loading icon, right after that the monitor goes black and reads "No Signal". I tried plugging in my old HDMI cable into my monitor and into my gpu and that worked just fine.

I've booted into Safe Mode to see if that worked and that was perfectly fine.

Seeing as it works fine in safe mode, it could be a driver issue. Install the latest drivers while in safe mode and reboot normally. If that doesn't work, revert drivers back a few versions and try again.

I see that you are also on an older BIOS version, so updating that could help. The newest version is 3.60 on ASRock's website.

If there is still and issue after trying the previous steps, it could be a bad DP port.
