Hey,

I'm looking for some advise from you guys - it's my first post so please forgive me if I do something wrong and tell me how to improve :)

I'm currently looking for a new Laptop, which I need for my studies and should be suitable for the following points:

  • light Video-, Photo- and Audio-Editing
  • Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint)
  • Internet-research (more often I have a ton of Browser Tabs open at the same time)
  • matte display
  • Netflix/YouTube

I would like to have at least 8GB of Ram and at least a 4Cores CPU and a SSD would be nice

Additional I would like the following nice to haves:

  • 15" Display - HD, 4k or Touch not required
  • at least 3 to 4 hours battery life, while surfing the web (I know rendering and heavy workloads can tank the lifespan of the battery)
  • Dedicated Graphics card to boost Render Performance and maybe play the Sims :3
  • should be useable for the next years
  • upgradeability - would be nice to be able to change/upgrade the Storage or the RAM
  • maximal 800€

I know for the price I don't get something fancy or extra special. I'm looking for something good enough and maybe with a student discount maybe I can get a good deal :)

I don't know much about Laptops so any recommendation will be helpful.

Thanks in advance

Used Thinkpad T5xx(s if you want something thinner/lighter). Get the newest/fastest you can afford.

EDIT: It seems like you'd be looking at a T560, 70, or 80. I'd look locally.

Quote me to see my reply!
