Switching to Gateron Browns

Currently i have a hotswappable Mechanical keyboard with Outemu Reds. i plan to switch on Gateron browns since according to the company that sells my keyboard that it is compatible. so the question is, compared to outemu reds, is gateron brown better? i want a bit of click but not that much.

Browns shouldn't be noticably clicker that the reds. The only difference is that browns aren't linear.

Browns will have a tactile bump which I personally really like. They won't have quite as much as blue's but they also won't be loud like blues. If you have ever tried Cherry MX Brown's Gaterons are basically the same. If you want to try them out head to your nearest best buy and they probably have a corsair keyboard with Cherry Browns on display

Before you consider Gateron Browns, are you entirely sure your keyboard supports switches outside of Outemus? Outemu switches use a thinner contact leaf pin size for their hotswap sockets so other switch vendors like Gateron, Kailh, and Cherry will not be compatible.

 

Onto the switches, Browns are not a clicky switch, they are a tactile switch. What this means is they have a noticeable bump similar to that of a Blue, but do not produce that resonate click the Blues do.

If this is better to you than Reds is entirely your preference. It's up to you if you prefer the linear force of the Reds or prefer a tactile bump in your keypresses.

Ye, the keyboard it self is compatible with gateron. for some reason, the manufacturer actually made it to have so many holes that it might theoretically be compatible with other switches.

That's cool, just wanted to double check as a keyboard of mine that uses Outemu Blues had a PCB that rendered other vendors' switches incompatible as the Outemu Blues, wouldn't have wanted you to be led astray by what the website says about compatibility.
