2 Drives with windows, only 1 shows up as bootloader

I just built a fresh new ryzen system, everything else. Both drives are working. Except on the ASUS bios only one of the drives shows up as windows bootloader. Although both the drives i have in my system(ssd, hdd) both have a windows 10 copy installed on them. I had gotten the hdd from some old pc that i was going to reformat. But how do i fix it so that it boots up off my ssd only and uses the ssd's bootloader and not the hard drives bootloader.

also if it helps the hard drive is the C drive while the ssd is the D drive.

My guess is when you installed Windows, it detected that you had another bootable operating system on the other drive and added itself as a second boot option on that drive, instead of making the new drive bootable.

What I would do is remove the mechanical drive (disconnect the cables), make sure the drive shows up in bios, then boot from a Windows 10 install DVD or usb stick and somewhere in the first menus there should be a Repair your computer link.

Click on that and then type the command you see on this page : https://neosmart.net/wiki/fix-mbr/#Fix_the_MBR_in_Windows_10

bootrec /FixMbr bootrec /FixBoot bootrec /ScanOs bootrec /RebuildBcd

This will make Windows record itself on the SSD and boot directly from that. Once it's done, type exit or just reset the PC and it should boot straight into Windows.

If everything works, turn off the PC and reconnect the mechanical drive.

You should also be able to go in BIOS and manually select the SSD as a boot drive, and remove or give a very low "priority" to the mechanical drive.
