USB hub into Motherboard

With keeping cables to a minimum is there a way of getting multi high speed USB's to a location on the desk?

I intend a front panel with the USB ports plus a on off switch plus a card reader going to USB header on board.

 

I want an Anker 10 but it plugs into USB on IO panel of mobo and has a power brick, neither of which i want...

 

Any advise??

well it needs a power brick to supply power through all the usb ports reliably, you may be looking for something like this?

Both good but both plug into IO USB not the mother board directly.

Only some workstation based motherboard will have a external USB header directly on the motherboard. What you need to look are are 2.5" or 3.5" USB hubs those may have regular USB headers.
