White rectangle indicating language in excel

Hello, I have a friend who's having this annoying issue in excel and I didn't manage to find a fix for it, the problem is a white rectangle indicating language of the cell in excel that pops up every time I click a cell.

I checked another computer and it doesn't happen there.

Windows 10

Excel 2016 not 365

Any ideas?
