Hello, I am building my first gaming pc and i have picked up some of my pc parts in this year. I plan on using the desktop for class work and of course gaming. I plan to do a lot of productivity task with my desktop. I'm debating on whether i would use it for video editing, so i would appreciate that I'll be using it for work. I plan on multitasking with my pc, gaming and using other applications, like browsing the web with many tabs/videos or doing school work like programing or learning to video edit. I purchased some of the parts for the pc I currently have the psu(750W), case(define r6), ram(32gb), M.2 drive ( 2 drives samsung 860, 970 and plan on buying a 2TB m.2 intel 660p before i finish the build, on sale). mouse/keyboard.

I need help building the rest of my build. I need recommendations for my cpu, motherboard, gpu, cpu cooler, and monitor(I believe ill be getting the ASUS VG27AQ reviewed by ltt). I waited this long in the hopes of getting the Ryzen 3950x and pairing it up with a high end gpu( the plan is to get a amd 580 for the meantime until the new 3080ti comes out.)I would like ASUS VG27AQ  monitor for the 1440p and 155hz panel, I'll be playing a lot of fast paced shooters and open world games like RDR2. Honestly I will play just about a wide range of games, so mostly shooters. I would appreciate that people recommend amd ryzen unless recommended otherwise. The motherboard

Thank you for all the help!

the cpu limit($760)

gpu (waiting on 3080 ti but for now 580x)

motherboard($400 bellow)

Monitor ( $500 bellow)

You don't need a 3950X for "learning" how to video edit, a 3700X does just fine. The only people who need 3950X's are people who get paid to video edit, i.e. pros.

Save youself the 400$, and go with a 3700X instead.

As for motherboard, the X570 Taichi is a very solid board, as is the X570 Unify.

I am also planning on running virtual machines and emulating games. I think I'll need 3, m. 2 drive slots. I planed on getting the 3950x. I'm just a little hesitant to get the 3700x just because I feel like it won't provide the best experience in the long run. Although I get that most games and applications don't use all the cores.

Game emulation requires single threaded performance (dolphin and android). Unless you need like 30 VMs, 8 cores is fine too, but its your money, and your choice, not mine. getting a 3950X at worst will just mean you spent more money. It won't perform any worse.
