Hello to all master pc builders,

This is my first post on here and will try to explain everything as good as possible.

For a while now I'm looking to buy a gaming PC and with the new Valve Index coming out, I'm going to buy that too. My current setup is an old HP laptop that can run GTA V but not in great quality. As for a screen I’m using LG 27UK650 and I’m currently not looking into replacing it. I'm a casual gamer and like to play games like GTA V l, Red Dead 2, Tomb Raider, Sea of Thieves,... So not really an FPS/Esport guy.

Other stuff you should know, I'm situated in Belgium (euro) and mostly use Amazon from Germany.
I’m willing to spend a max of €2.000 on the new PC. In total, I would like to spend no more than €3.000 including the Valve Index. I’m probably going to buy the PC on Black Friday to hopefully get some sales on it.

I don’t really know anything about PC building. I can build it myself (also never did it) but I prefer buying it from Gaming PC building sites (https://www.ibuypower.com/ or https://www.originpc.com/). If you know a good site that does this good and at a good price feel free to recommend sites. I also don’t mind buying a prebuilt PC so if there are any please suggest them.

I saw this video of Linus and thought this was a good PC: https://youtu.be/75L8Hrb49A4?t=833

Can you help me configure one?
Is an RTX 2080 Super needed or isn’t there a lot of difference with the RTX 2070 Super?

Thanks in advance!

de.pcpartpicker.com is a good sites for finding parts and prices your own.

I'd reccommend going with something local for prebuilts, like caseking.de

https://www.caseking.de/en/high-end-gaming-pc-configurator-amd-sipc-910.html#p=bbbl2X1'bbbm2X1vbbbn3w-5bbbo2X2zbbbp2X3vbbbr2X4$bbbs3~7_bbbt3v)2bbbA3!5#bbbB3w6;bbbC3x@:bbbD3uUZbbbE2X+xbbbF2X)-bbbG2X)#bbbH2X(;bbbI2X(ZbbbJ2X'7bbbK2X$4bbbL2X$*bbbM2X$-bbbN2X$:bbbO2X$/bbbQ2Z;.bgJk3?+?bndk3!-@bnIB3!#6bpnm3.'Ubpqm3.#5

1600$, R5 3600, RTX 2070 Super, 16GB RGB ram Comes with no windows, buy a 5$ key on ebay. 2070 Super should be able to run a valve index.

This is how much It'd cost if you built it yourself. +20 euros for the 2 fans and the rgb.

~150$ for build services, not that bad.

I would make a few changes, you can save some money on motherboard and PSU without really losing anything, and you should be getting faster memory with Ryzen. Then you get a build like this. I also swapped the CPU cooler but that's just because I'm not familiar with the Alpenföhn.

So the real cost of the prebuilt is losing some performance and paying at least €250 extra.

losing performance? Also, the ram isn't RGB, and yes that is a feature. Also, the B450 Gaming X looks to have a B450 Aorus elite VRM which buildzoid says is trash. Also, you're not guaranteed a flashed B450 bios but on a prebuilt you are. so its more like 200 euro extra.

You lose performance from the slow memory. No need to include useless RGB if OP isn't specifically asking for it. The VRM on the Asus board is mediocre too, but it costs way more. You can get a boot kit if the BIOS isn't updated.

So yeah, €250 extra for less performance.
