Just a quick question for my futur build, running Ryzen 5 3600 and GTX 1060:

I've been pondering the NZXT H500 (not the i version) combined with the ENERMAX Liqmax III 120 cooler. My reasoning is, after the Gamer's Nexus review of the case, the case is built more or less to exhaust air from the back and top, thus flushing the hot GPU air up to. Apparently this slightly warms up the CPU, so i thought what if instead of dumping a huge ventirad in the path of the hot air, use a small watercooler that blows it's own hot air out the top (or back) of the case? This should keep the original "negative pressure" design while minimizing the negative effects... Unless i got this all wrong.

My goal is to stay low budget while getting decent performance and good build quality. The NZXT H500, even tho it has no frontal mesh, seems to be a very well built case for our current needs (more on the current build plan here -

). I am not even sure the "CPU heating" thing will be a problem since we are not planning on OCig the Ryzen anyway, so maybe just a simple standard cooler will work fine, it's just that the watercooler almost fits the budget so i thought if it's worth it might as well stretch a tiny bit and get optimal performance... ?

If it's low budget the included cpu cooler is enough especially if not overclock.

It should, yes, but there are decent aftermarket coolers for 20-50 euros, it still fits the budget more or less. Question is, will the Enermax fit the case or not?

Front: Up to 280mm
Rear: 120mm

It will but you could spend those 20-50 euros in a better GPU for example.

True, but the only 2 things that are more or less variable right now are the cpu cooler and the MB.

Options are:

  • The Enermax water cooler
  • Deepcool GAMMAXX 400

and

  • MSI B450-A-PRO Max
  • MSI B450 Tomahawk Max

Indeed the price difference between the 2 coolers and the 2 MBs is the same, not sure which is more bang for the buck...

You could look at the eSports 34 dual fan, it's around 40€ and will be better. Otherwise get the air cooler.

Get the cheapest MAX, they are more or less the same anyway.
