Asus 1080 ti turbo or gigabyte 2080 windforce

 

ryzen 7 3700x

 

if I were to get the 1080 ti I would put an x52 kraken and front mounted it in the h210i case and if i were to get the 2080 I would use ryzen stock cooler (wraith prism) thanks!

The 2080 obviously, the performance is about the same but the windforce will be a much better card than any blower.

 

You might not need the 3700X if this is just for gaming btw but either ways using it with the stock cooler is perfectly adequate.

This rig will be used for recording, video editing, gaming and streaming that’s y I want to use the 3700x also stock cooler is good so that’s y. Thank you for your answer.

Is it really that’s overkill. I was planning on getting 9600k with aio but ryzen has more cores and threads and similar single core performance so I thought it would be a good idea to get the 3700x.

The best gaming performance around this pricing would come from a discounted i7 9700KF... it's still a fine CPU for video editing and like stated if you record gameplay footage with Shadowplay and on OBS streaming settings you also enable NVENC then you're offloading all the work to the very capable GPU.

 

Most games are still GPU bound so it does make sense shifting your money to the best GPU you can afford, if you're located in USA the Founders Edition RTX 2080 Super for 699$ is a very good deal.

Unless you're buying the 1080 ti used for a really good price, then the 2080 is the obvious choice.
