Is shadowplay only supported by newer nvidia gpus?

So, I was wondering whether shadow play works on older gpus for example on a gtx 670 or perhaps a 760 as I tried to look for a list but all I get is confusion, because on one page it says something, and in another it says something else

It looks like shadowplay will work with a GTX 600 series and up
