I've overclocked my cpu to 5Ghz, and get 55-67c under load(gaming) my cooler is an corsair h60 running at 100% fan speed, wich can get a bit noisy. so what is the ideal temprature for 5ghz on this cpu? and with ideal I mean:

  • Not shortening it lifespan
  • Not degrading the cpu over time
  • Not putting the cpu at risk

edit:

Ambient temps vary from 17-20c.

Intel's spec on the matter is that sustained temps above 85c is(are) not recommended, and temperatures below 80c are(is) ideal. The 9700k's thermal shutdown is 105c, and I believe it starts to very heavily throttle at 100c.

Most people will tell you that somewhere between 70-75c is ideal if you're looking for a balance of noise and cooling.
