I can get both GPU's for the same price. First build, gaming in 1080p for now (as that is the monitor I have) but I am hoping to upgrade in the future, which one should I go for?

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 WINDFORCE 6GB or Gigabyte Radeon RX VEGA 64 GAMING OC 8GB

Or for £50 more the Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 PULSE 8GB GDDR6

Which one should I go for? Thanks

The FPS per dollar will heavily favor that Vega 64.  If it truly is more money for a non-stock cooler RX 5700, if it wasn't I'd say go with that as it's newer, but very similar performance.  Are you running a 60Hz refresh rate, or a high refresh rate  (120Hz+) ?

-Unless you really want RTX Ray Tracing in your life (but you're trading some FPS for that just by picking the RTX card, and when you turn RTX on in games it will cost yet more FPS).

-If you're looking to save another buck and are ok buying a used GPU (I did it and never looked back), the GTX 1070 Ti can typically be had on eBay for a great price.  It also games very well.

Only 60Hz at the moment. I am hoping that we can buy a 1440p next year but that could be a long way away... I know the vega on paper is the card to go for but it seems like old tech and uses a lot of power....

I would like to buy new, it is killing me trying to decide what to do. My budget is around £300 ($385) max so the head says 5700...

For £100 less I could get the RX590..... and get a new 144hz monitor.... but that seems like not looking to the future at all.

I am heading in that direction. I keep thinking 'the XT is ONLY £50 more' I suppose I could keep going like that and end up getting way above budget.... Thanks

Dude I did that and I ended up with a 2080ti, it's a slippery slope...

That is quite a jump! I still can't make my mind up!

Personally if it were me I'd pick up a 3rd party 5700 and with time power mod it or overclock it to a 5700xt it seems that is the best price to performance at the moment. Maybe keep an eye out over black Friday or Cyber Monday for a deal you never know

As a vega 64 user. it is a fast card .

If I were to get a card now it will be the 5700xt Devil . Best card you can get for the money

That is what I went for in the end, its only money and I guess that i will have a card that will last a good few years.

Its a nice card for 1440p and when you strugle just use RIS and drop the res scale and get nice performance
